The Benefits of Joining a Real Estate Investment Club

Real estate investment clubs are in just about every community around the country. People interested in real estate investment, active investors, mortgage brokers, attorneys, real estate agents, appraisers, surveyors and others are members. As with any organization with a common interest, there are those directly engaged, and there are those who join in order to do business with them.

There are two websites that can help you to identify and locate real estate investment clubs in your area. They are http://REIClub.com and http://CREOnline.com. On these sites you can research the clubs, their descriptions and membership and even check out when they have meetings. Most of them will let you attend at least one meeting without joining so that you can see if the club is what you’re seeking.

The first and perhaps most valuable benefit of membership in a real estate investment club is the information exchange and education you’ll get by talking to other investors. Getting to know other real estate investors and learning how they have succeeded and where they’ve been challenged will help you to craft your investment business plan.

Meeting these other investors also provides a group of people who may end up on your “buyer list.” If you decide to wholesale or flip properties, other investors become your primary customers. There could be business contacts waiting for you in one of these clubs. You’ll only find out if you join and begin dialogues with other investors.

The education you can get from these discussions can’t touch the information you’ll gather from investment libraries maintained by many of these clubs. Then there are also the guest speakers that are invited to meetings. From investment gurus to mortgage brokers and appraisers, there is valuable information for your investment business that will be shared with you by these speakers.

Check out the real estate investment clubs near you, attend a couple of meetings, and you’ll find a valuable resource.
